  Understanding Configuration Profiles

Configuration Profiles contain all settings from the Phone Control Tool, including CUCM server access, key macros and background image definitions.

Changing to another Configuration Profile will load all the settings for that profile. Configuration Profiles can be also referenced from the Command Line. To define specific settings to be used from the command line, create a new Configuration Profile that contains the required settings such as key macros and background images.

Configuration Profiles can be newly added, deleted or copied over from another Configuration Profile with the buttons

Tip [Time Saver]: To copy all macros to another Configuration Profile, use the copy profile button and then change the CUCM specific settings. This will copy over the key and image macros contained in the profile.

After changing any of the server settings, make sure to verify the settings by pressing the [Test All] button in the Server tab, as per the screen shot below.

One instance of UPLINX Phone Control Tool can connect only to the phones of a single CUCM cluster. To control concurrently phones on a second cluster, start the UPLINX Phone Control Tool again. You must have created a second Configuration Profile for the second cluster to do so.
