Verification: Auth URL is not set - phones without Auth URL explicitly configured will not authenticate

Symptom

Test All show warning that 'Authentication URL' contains HTTPS
 or

Phone Screen not displaying and screen shows Error 4

Cause

No value was found for the Authentication URL or Secure Authentication URL within the CUCM Enterprise Parameters.

Verification

Check the Enterprise Parameters configuration on CUCM.

Make sure that at least one (1) value has been set for either the URL Authentication (within the Phone URL Parameters Section) and/or Secured Authentication URL ( within the Secured Phone URL Parameters Section).

With both Authentication URL values being empty within Enterprise Parameters, phones are unable to authenticate, leading to this error.

Resolution

Set a valid Authentication URL in Enterprise Parameters (the default value is http://<serverip>/ccmip/authenticate.jsp ). Set the Secure Authentication URL to empty unless there are valid certificates and DNS fully works.
  or

Set a valid Authentication URL explicity on each phone to be controlled by Phone Control Tool. (set http://<serverip>/ccmip/authenticate.jsp for CUCM authentication). Set the Secure Authentication URL to empty. Set the Secure Authentication URL to empty unless there are valid certificates and DNS fully works.
