Step 2: Configure CUCM Application User

On the Server tab, in the section "CUCM Application User", specify the settings for the Application User used by the UPLINX Phone Control Tool. There are two modes that can be chosen:

1.Automatically Configure Application User.
Set Automated mode by enabling the checkbox 'Automatically configure Application User (Recommended)'. We strongly recommend using Automated Mode.

2.Manually Configure Application User (Advanced).
This requires manually creating an Application User in CUCM with the correct roles assigned, please see the chapter Manually Configure Application User (Advanced) on how to create this application user manually in CUCM. We only recommend this option for highly secured deployments that require specific security policies.

 Detected CTI Manager IP Addresses

UPLINX Phone Control Tool will automatically retrieve the CTI Manager IP addresses within a CUCM cluster. To do so, the hostname and full DNS names (FQDN) of your CUCM member servers must be resolvable in DNS.

If DNS or the CUCM DNS names cannot be resolved to IP addresses, consider configuring DNS by:

1.Adding DNS address and domain name to the Network settings of your network adapter

2.Adding hostname entries to the windows host file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Make sure that the CTI Manager service is running on each CUCM server that has registered phones in order to control them by UPLINX Phone Control Tool.

Hostname and full DNS names (FQDN) of all CUCM member servers must be resolvable in DNS. To check, ping the DNS names of CUCM on a command line prompt.
